1. How do I Start using Sam's Interactive Reader?

   First, download Sam's Interactive reader from our website. You will be prompted to "Save" or "Open the downloaded file. We recommend choosing the "Open" option to get you started using the program straight away.

   If you choose the "Save" option, remember where on your computer you have saved the file. Once downloaded, double click the saved file to begin the installation process.

   Once the installation process begins, you will be prompted with an installation notification window that verifies the "publisher identity". In this case, for security reasons, please insure the publisher is in fact "Storybook Anytime LLC" and that system access is "Unrestricted". This is normal and verifies that you have the correct, virus-free, software from Storybook Anytime.

   Choose the "Install" option and you will be prompted with an opportunity to set your installation preferences. These will be things such as where on your computer you wish to place the program fils. We highly recommend you leave this set at its preconfigured defaults. Choose "Continue".

   Sam's Interactive Reader will start automatically after installation. In the future, you can access the software by clicking on the "Sam Icon" that will not be located on your desktop or by going to "Start > All Programs > Sam's Interactive Reader".

   For Mac Users you will find "Sams Interactive Reader.app" in your applications folder. You can drag the application to your dock or desktop for easy access later.

2. How do I set up an account?

   Within Sam's Interactive Reader choose the "Account" option on the top navigation bar of the application. From here you can choose "Create" under the "Account Settings" block to setup a new Storybook Anytime account.

   If you already have an existing account you can choose "I have an account" and enter the current user name and password for that account. You can authorize up to five (5) machines to use a single account with Sam's Interactive Reader.

3. How do I change my password?

   Within Sam's Interactive Reader choose the "Account" option on the top navigation bar of the application. From here select the "Edit" button within the "Account Settings" block. You will be prompted for your user name and password. This is for security reasons to insure only you can manage your account settings.

   Once authorized, you may enter a new password into the "Login PW" field and choose "Save". Your new password has now been memorized.

4. How do I find my password?

   Within the "Account" section of Sam's Interactive Reader your password is obscured from view for security reasons and can not be displayed.

   If you need to reset your password for any reason you can choose the "What is my password?" link within Sam's Interactive Reader whenever prompted for your user name and password. Or you can go to our "Password Recovery" page on our website.

   Enter the email address that is registered with your account and the system with automatically set a new password for you and email it immediately.

5. How do I change my Nick Name?

   Within Sam's Interactive Reader choose the "Account" option on the top navigation bar of the application. From here select the "Edit" button within the "Account Settings" block. You will be prompted for your user name and password. This is for security reasons to insure only you can manage your account settings.

   Once authorized, you will notice a "Change" link next to the "Nickname" headline in your account details. Click this link and you will be able to update or change your current Nick Name.

6. How do I purchase new stories and activities for my child?

   Within Sam's Interactive Reader choose the "Store" option on the top navigation bar of the application. From here your will be presented with items available for purchase from our online store. You will also find many FREE items as well. Items will be clearly marked with prices and you may select to add them to your shopping cart quickly and easily.

   Once you have items added to your shopping cart you simply choose the "Cart" option on the top navigation bar of the application. From here you can choose to purchase each item individually or buy all items in your cart at one time.

   Important Note: An account is required to purchase items from Storybook Anytime, therefore, when you make your choice, you will be prompted for your account user name and password. This is to insure that only you (an adult) is authorizing the payment transaction.

7. How do I get my school enrolled in your School Program?

   Only schools and libraries can register for our School Program. If you are an authorized school official or librarian and wish to register, please visit our School Program page to get started.

   Parents, if you would like to get your school started using our program, please have an authorized school official contact us or send them directly to our site to register.

8. How do I access your informational handouts to use in my school?

   You will need to login to your School Program Control Panel to access all materials and information related directly to your school.

9. How do I use my Super Reader Points?

   Super Reader Points are a form of "virtual currency" that is earned as you participate in certain activities throughout Sam's Interactive Reader. Today, they are used simply as "experience points" that can be checked on the leader board located within Sam's Interactive Reader.

   There are big plans for Super Reader Points in the future. Stay tuned.

10. How do I share my Super Feeder Points with my child in Sam's Interactive Reader?

    While in the Sam's Fish Bowl application on Facebook, scroll down to the bottom of the screen. You will need to enter your Sam's Interactive Reader account user name and password in the location identified. This will automatically connect your accounts.

    Super Feeder Points are sync'd with Sam's Interactive Reader on each subsequent visit so your points will not show up in the reader instantly.

11. How do I Use points in Sam's Fish Bowl?

    Super Feeder Points are a form of "virtual currency" that is earned by feeding your fish and your friends' fish. Today, they are used as an activity measure that can be checked on the leader board located within the application.

12. How do I find Sam's Fish Bowl on Facebook?

    The easiest way is to login to Facebook and then point your browser to http://www.samsfishbowl.com. This will take you to the Facebook application "About" page where you can choose to "Add this Application" instantly.

    Via Facebook you can type "Sams Fish Bowl" into the search box at the top right of the Facebook home page and you will see the application return in the results. Click on "View Application" to go to the Facebook application "About" page where you can choose to "Add this Application" instantly.

13. How do I uninstall Sam's Interactive Reader?

    Windows Users can uninstall Sam's Interactive Reader by going to "Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs" and locating Sam's Interactive Reader in the list. Clicking on the program in the list will present you with an option to remove the program.

    Mac Users can simply drag the "Sam's Interactive Reader.app" file located in your "Applications" folder to your trash can.

14. How do I uninstall Sam's Fish Bowl?

    Via Facebook's home page move your mouse over the "Settings" option at the top right of the browser window. A drop down box will appear that allows you to click "Application Settings"— choose this option. This will return a list of all applications that you have installed through facebook.

    To remove Sam's Fish Bowl simply select the "X" on the row that indicates "Sam's Fish Bowl".

    Warning: Removing the application will instantly erase your fish customizations and eliminate all of your Super Feeder Points.

15. How do I earn Super Reader Points?

    Super Reader Points are a form of "virtual currency" that is earned as you participate in certain activities throughout Sam's Interactive Reader. Many points can be accumulated by playing games and activities. Each story has a set of reading comprehension questions that follow and you can earn points for not only taking the quiz but earn more for each correct answer.

    We don't reveal ALL the ways to earn points as it is somewhat exciting to figure out new ways to earn points by exploring Sam's room and world.

16. How do I earn Super Feeder Points?

    Super Feeder Points are a form of "virtual currency" that is earned as you feed your fish and your friends' fish. You can earn bonus points for feeding your fish daily as well as earn point for both you and your friends when you feed their fish's.

17. How do I find the stories and activities that I have purchased?

    Through exploration of Sam's Room in the Sam's Interactive Reader software you will find that when you mouse over his bookshelf Sam will tell you that "Stories" exist there. This is his library of Stories. On the table you will notice when you mouseover items Sam will tell you that "Activities" exist there.

    By clicking on these various items you will open a screen that reveals a listing of stories or activities that have been purchased or downloaded. Clicking on the imagery will launch the reader or game.

19. Is my payment information secure?

    When you make a purchase from Sam's Interacive Reader, your information is sent directly to your financial institution for verification. Your credit card data is transmitted via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to our secure servers during account management only. When you purchase items from our store, our commerce engine uses the securely stored and encrypted credit card data on our server to authorize the transaction. This reduces the number of times your sensitive data is transmitted via the Internet and helps insure payment security.

20. Can I use the same account on two computers in my home?

    YES! You may use a single account with up to five (5) different installations of Sam's Interactive Reader. For details on how to accomplish this see "How do I set up an account?"

    Once authorized, select the "Credit Card" tab and your will be able to update or change your credit card information. Remember to his "Save" when you are done.
